Pretznut Tiffin

I had an idea that lets be honest someone has bound to have thought of already but I am claiming it as mine. There you go I have stuck my flag in it, this is my idea and you can thank me later, ha! I was having a think about things that I thought would be yummy together and I came up with dark chocolate, salted peanuts, pretzels and marshmallows. I fancied making a batch of tiffin as I thought it’d be very postable and I wanted to send someone a “thinking of you” prezzie through the post. So my brain started ticking and I came up with the following recipe. I hope you like it, let me know how you get along with it…

400g Choc

190g Butter

1/2 Can Condensed Milk

50g Salted Peanuts

150g Salted Pretzels, chopped roughly

50g Mini Marshmallows

50g Sultanas

Extra Pretzels or Peanuts to decorate

In a heavy based saucepan melt 200g of dark chocolate, 100g butter and the condensed milk together, make sure you keep stirring the mixture. Put the Popcorn, Pretzels, marshmallows and raisins in a bowl and pour over the chocolate mixture and mix it all together. Pour into a plastic tub that has been lined with baking paper. Press the mixture down with the back of a large spoon and then pop it in the fridge until completely chilled.

In a bain-marie put the rest of the butter and chocolate and melt together. Pour over the choccy-biscuity-marshmallowy bit and then pop back in the fridge to set. If you are feeling fancy you could always sprinkle with marshmallows or some more pretzel bits or some peanuts.

Once totally chilled, cut into whatever size bit you feel necessary and enjoy with good friends or family or all by yourself. Tiffin is also great to make with kiddies (just use the base ingredients and then let your little go wild with the fillings…)
